Robert Hale, RIP

Robert Hale has passed away. He was in my lens from 1967 - 2008, many roles at New York City Opera and major roles at the Met.  I have been editing and scanning for seven hours and will post images later and tomorrow.  These represent the beginning of   the Hale archive and the end. First- MAGIC FLUTE, NYC Opera, 1967, as the Speaker.   Below is Wotan in WALKURE at the Met 2008.

This is  the Vitellia Mad scene. I don't remember what happened.... leak in camera? Defective film? Defective cassette?  No idea, but it makes for a swell insanity image.

 My condolences to family and friends.  This is a sad time, but I am so thankful for having witnessed this greatness, the honor to integrity of an art form.
